Description: The Veterinary Public Health Careers Forum is designed to introduce students to diverse career opportunities for veterinarians beyond clinical practice. Veterinary public health professionals work in fields such as zoonotic and emerging diseases, global biosecurity, outbreak response, environmental health, public policy, food safety, emergency preparedness, and animal welfare.
This forum features approximately six speakers who provide brief overviews of these exciting career paths. Past speakers have represented organizations including the US Public Health Service, FDA, CDC, USDA, Department of Homeland Security, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, USAID, the US Army, and the US Air Force.
Additionally, representatives from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and University of Minnesota Schools of Public Health will be present to discuss their Master of Public Health (MPH) programs.
