We believe in giving you the opportunity to also work closely with multi-functional departments (Operations, Risk, Quality, Maturation, Logistics, and Procurement) to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the facility.

PAY RATE: PAY RATE: $86,465.60/annual ($0.50 per hour shift differential for afternoon and $0.75 for overnights. Overtime eligible)

WORK LOCATION: 7000 Celebration Way, Hope Hull, AL 36043

SCHEDULE: Must be flexible in transitioning from an 8-hour, 10-hour or a rotating 12-hour shift for 24/7 operation.

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Electromechanic to join our team. This role involves the effective use of maintenance systems data, completion of preventative maintenance activities and continuous improvement skills to deliver and improve on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost and asset care. The ideal candidate will be flexible, possess tight-knit collaboration skills, and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • At all times enforce Diageo health and safety, environmental and food safety standards, and work to all applicable legislative procedures. Responsible for Safe Systems of work.
  • Maintain a safe and organized workplace environment through alignment to the Safety and 5S MMS practices.
  • Provide Electromechanic resource (electrical and mechanical) to the operations team.
  • Accountable to ensure all assigned Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules are carried out at the defined frequency and completed to the required standard.
  • Coach operators to perform autonomous maintenance tasks, machine set ups optimization and support growth in equipment capability as required.
  • Support capital work, including installation, commissioning and testing within area as required. Responsible for feeding into early equipment management.
  • Make full use of SAP – SAP reporting & recording completion.
  • Review RCM activity on a weekly basis.
  • Understands and uses MMS principles tools and techniques, supplying positively to MMS ITFsManage
  • personal data in Workday e.g. P4G and personal details (specific responsibilities to be clarified)
  • Attend and supply to SIC process. Complete short interval control documentation on activities.
  • Raise 5 why’s as defined by agreed trigger points. Work with Operators and team leaders to play a proactive role in situational problem solving on shift. Fixing problems and finding solutions via RCPS
  • Participate in line improvement projects, a skills & experience allow.
  • Engage in start of shift meetings and performance-based team meetings to raise and address persistent performance issues.
  • Participates in weekly asset care review meetings.
  • Anticipate issues and be more proactive in approach.
  • Support TLS & Operators to build asset care and RCPS capability.
  • Attend all Tier 1 meetings, supply to the agenda and complete actions as required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Indoor and outdoor work environments, subject to extreme temperatures, wet/slippery conditions, and loud noise.
  • Regularly exposed to moving machinery and vehicles; must be always aware of surroundings.
  • May require lifting, moving, and handling of materials up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb, and bend for extended periods.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and maintain physical stamina throughout shifts.
  • Lift objects over 50 lbs.
  • Lifting is performed with assistance of other workers / equipment.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualifications
    • Prefer to have completed a recognized apprenticeship or gained a mechanical or electrical degree.
    • 5+ years’ experience performing maintenance tasks in a manufacturing facility.
    • Higher National Certificate level qualification or equivalent within an FMCG industry.
  • Experience – Essential
    • Numerical/verbal reasoning, Computer literate
    • Understanding of asset performance and maintenance philosophy with excellent process improvement and root cause problem solving skills.
    • Multi-Skilled in electrical and mechanical.
    • Ability to work autonomously.
    • Ability to work in a team and be an effective team member, good communication skills.
    • Has strength of character to challenge non-adherence to standards and policies.
    • Raises problems.
    • Is an ambassador for continuous improvement.
    • Responds to change in a positive and flexible manner.
  • Desirable
    • Knowledge of risk standards (Quality / H&S / Environment) Safety and hygiene compliance procedures
    • Working knowledge of SAP, Harford
