Forage is a free, self-paced career development platform that allows Auburn students to experience what it’s like to work at some of the world’s leading companies through virtual job simulations. Developed in partnership with top employers including JPMorgan Chase, Deloitte, Accenture, BCG, Citi, Lululemon, PepsiCo, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, and hundreds more, these simulations provide students with hands-on exposure to real workplace projects and day-to-day responsibilities across a wide variety of industries.

Each simulation is designed by professionals currently working in the field and mirrors the types of tasks completed by interns and entry-level employees. Students may analyze business data, develop marketing strategies, create financial models, write code, solve engineering challenges, or work through client scenarios depending on the career path they choose. Rather than simply learning about a career, students actively practice the skills employers value most in a realistic, low-risk environment.

Because Forage programs are entirely online and self-paced, students can complete them anytime and anywhere, with most simulations taking between two and six hours. There are no applications, interviews, or prerequisites, making it easy for students at any stage of their career journey to explore industries, build confidence, and discover which career paths best align with their interests.

Upon completion, students receive a certificate that can be added to their résumé and LinkedIn profile, along with guidance on how to discuss the experience in interviews. These simulations help students demonstrate practical, career-ready skills, strengthen internship and job applications, and gain talking points that showcase their initiative and experience. Research from Forage indicates that students who complete job simulations are significantly more likely to secure employment opportunities.
