Get Involved

  • Check out the engineering student organizations in your area of interest.
  • The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) student branch is a professional organization for students interested in engineering for sustainable tomorrow.
  • Join other BSEN students in international engineering competitions for design, undergraduate research, essay competition and video production, and War Eagle Pullers (1/4 scale tractor team).

Sophomore

Course Selection

  • Maintain a good GPA, seek academic support early and often.
  • Discuss appropriate electives and minor options with your advisors.
  • Gateway courses: MATH 2630/2650, ENGR 2050, BIOL 1020/21.

  • Visit the Engineering Career Development and Corporate Relations to help build a resume, find out about internships and on campus recruiting activity.
  • Participate in an internship or Co-op, this adds valuable experience to your resume.

Get Involved

  • Volunteer and seek out opportunities that cater to your interests and also challenge you to get out of your comfort zone.

General Information

The program prepares graduates to apply engineering principles to the challenges and opportunities presented in biological systems, natural resources, and the environment. They can be found in a variety of areas including bioenergy, water resources, engineering, forest operations engineering, watershed modeling, stream and river restoration and others.
