Job Title: Construction Project Engineer

Location: Fort Myers, FL

Classification: Full Time, Salary- Exempt

Beginning Salary Range: $50,000 – $80,000

About this opportunity:

Seeking a local candidate to join for our team in our Fort Myers office to serve as a Project Engineer, The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager in all of their needs regarding execution of commercial construction jobs. The Project Engineer will manage many moving parts and take directives as needed to ensure forward movement and completion of required tasks. Attention to detail is required as this is a fast-paced industry, with many moving parts and high work volume.

Job responsibilities include:

· Data processing in project management software.

· Direct Material Purchase – processing.

· Analytical abilities to interpret construction documents.

· Be able to process submittals, RFIs, pay applications, correspondence, meeting documentation.

· Administrative skills such as filing, scanning, faxing, phones, meeting notes.

· Travel is required in Southwest Florida.

· Coordinate and work with the PM on all projects and needs.

· Maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, architects and engineers.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Education and experience: 4-year degree in construction related curriculum 1-5 years’ experience with a commercial general contractor/construction management firm.
  • Construction background: Must have knowledge of subcontractors, purchase orders, contracts with owners, pay applications, bonds, permits, general construction knowledge.
  • Eye for Details: Accuracy is critical for success in this role. Candidate must have superior organizational, communication (both written and verbal) decision-making skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Tech know how: Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word. Experience with construction software is preferred.

Base pay is positioned within the beginning salary range based on several factors including a candidate’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
