The primary responsibility is to provide home and community-based interventions to address mental health/behavioral health needs of children. The RBHS Specialist shall maintain the confidential nature of the agency’s services and shall perform the duties of the position in a professional manner. The position operates under the supervision of the Community Behavioral Health Director with clinical supervision provided by the Clinical Care Coordinator. These services are provided on an as-needed basis with no guarantee of a certain number of clients or hours per week.
Scope: RBHS services include but are not limited to assessment, service plan development, behavior modification, family support, and psychosocial rehabilitative services. Services are based on the needs of the child and family, with the purpose of improving the child’s ability to function in the home, community, and school settings. Services are provided in the home or other appropriate community-based setting.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Engage with child and family in various service settings to provide authorized RBHS services. In all settings, focus interventions on meeting treatment plan goals as established by Growing Home Southeast (GHSE), the Referring Agency, and in accordance with Medicaid standards.
- Complete, collect, and submit all necessary and required documentation of services provided in accordance with GHSE expectations and Medicaid standards.
- Maintain appropriate weekly service hours as specified by the Medicaid Authorization for services, the client treatment plan, and GHSE expectations.
- Participate in monthly individual case supervision and consultations, required trainings, and monthly team meetings.
- Communicate with the treatment team regarding clients served on a weekly basis through phone and GHSE email, as needed.
- Respond urgently to cases that exhibit emergency needs and report all crisis situations within 6 hours to the appropriate staff as determined in program procedures.
- Assist families served in identifying resources in their own community and help develop linkages to these resources.
- Assist Clinical Care Coordinator in gathering documents and information needed for the authorization for initial services, ongoing authorizations, treatment plans, and behavior modification plans, as applicable.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field is required.
- Two years of experience working with the population being served is preferred.
- Master’s degree in a related human services field with one year of social work experience with the population being served is highly preferred.
- Preference will be given to social work degree and experience with families and children involved in the child welfare or juvenile justice systems.
- Must possess warm, empathic relationship-building skills and communication style to establish a trusting relationship within a family.
- Must demonstrate knowledge, understanding and experience working with children and youth who demonstrate extensive behavioral issues, those who have experienced trauma, grief and loss, and other experiences that impact mental health and stability of children and families.
- Must have adequate transportation with appropriate insurance coverage for transporting children and other family members as required.
- Must have the ability to drive for long periods of time, sit, stand, and lift up to 10 pounds.
- Must maintain access to a device to check and respond to emails on the assigned GHSE email account and access to a phone to respond to the treatment team during the business week and/or scheduled work hours.
- Must demonstrate ability to work effectively as a member of a team and exhibit organizational and writing ability to ensure accurate and complete records and required documentation.
Job Type: Part-Time and Full-Time

Flexible schedules (weekends as needed)
Pay is dependent on multiple factors including but not limited to: degree and experience (hiring range of $15-$17/hour).
