As a Financial Analyst – Commercial Finance, you will play a key role in supporting our commercial organization by providing financial insights that drive profitability. You will be responsible for financial reporting, variance analysis, and forecasting while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End Close: Prepare data, update reports, analyze variances, and provide insights on financial performance.
- Sales & Margin Analysis: Work with cross-functional teams to understand sales variances and their impact on profitability.
- Financial Modeling: Maintain and update financial models related to price, volume, and mix analysis.
- Data Management: Track and maintain a sales and margin database, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Reporting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing executive reporting packages and support forecasting by consolidating sales data.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across Accounting, Pricing, Sales, Product Development, and Supply Chain to drive financial decision-making.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide insights and recommendations to leadership through special projects and requests.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: 0-3 years in financial analysis or accounting (internship experience included).
- Excel Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, nested formulas, filters, etc.).
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze large data sets, identify trends, and provide strategic insights.
- Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy in data management and reporting.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Travel: Willingness to travel 1-2 times per year for site visits or team meetings.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail, or manufacturing finance.
- Experience with corporate margin management (price, mix, costs).
- Understanding of manufacturing finance (standard costing, variances, operating costs).
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Power Query and Power BI for data analysis.
- Knowledge of GAAP, P&L structure, variance analysis, and product/channel mix.
